![]() ![]() The counting up and down is great for early number recognition, and the rhyming style is fun for children to hear and for parents to read aloud. The hippos are adorable, and they all arrive and leave in style. The detailed illustrations add a lot for children to explore on each page. It is simple but silly and plenty of fun. What I loved: It is so easy to see why this is such an enduring book for toddlers and preschoolers. They head out in groups until there is just the one hippo left alone again. ![]() After a great night of partying, the hippos must leave at break of day. HIPPOS GO BERSERK is a delightful picture book with plenty of rhyme, silliness, and fun! It begins with one hippo all alone, who then calls some hippos on the phone, and soon there are so many hippos showing up for the party. ![]()

In The Residence, Kate Andersen Brower takes it upon herself to collect all the stories from the butlers, maid, florists, cooks, engineers, cleaners, doormen, security guards and others, bringing them all together in one place to paint a new and captivating picture of the White House. Petey, Finn’s girlfriend, can’t believe that his feelings for her might be genuine, for he is attractive and she is not. It is possible to say that the whole novel is about insecurity. It is his way to show Sean that he loves him too, that he is not weak and doesn’t need Sean to give up on everything for him. ![]() He becomes obsessed with an idea of saving Roza. When he fails to save Roza, he feels as if he lets his brother down. He also suffers from a feeling of guilt, for he is not a child anymore and understands that Sean has to give up a lot of things for Finn. Finn suffers from face blindness and this is a main reason of his “ strange” behavior. ![]() They call him Moonface or Spaceman, joking about his dreamy look and an inability to look people in the eyes.
